Hi, I’m Rebecca Sue, and I teach Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, iRest Yoga Nidra, and Restorative Yoga with an emphasis on creating balance in body, mind, and breath through appropriate challenge and rest. I have been practicing yoga since 2000 and teaching since 2009.
I am an E-RYT500 with the Yoga Alliance and received my initial training from Gina Caputo in 2009. Since then, I have been influenced by the teachings of Christina Sell, Shiva Rea, Jim Bennitt, Leslie Kaminoff, as well as several local Columbia teachers.
In 2016, I completed my 500 hr training from the Circle Yoga Shala in Jasper, Arkansas, studying Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda with Matt and Holly Krepps. In 2018, I completed an additional 140 hr Depth Intensive with Godfrey Devereux. In 2019, I completed my Foundational Yin Yoga 50 hr training with Josh Summers and my Level 1 iRest Yoga Nidra Teacher certification.
As of March 2020, I have taught over 4,100 hours of yoga to individuals and groups.
My classes bring awareness to the sweetness of the present moment through the exploration of energetic movement and stillness. I teach because I want to inspire students to connect with their inner resources of strength, compassion, and peace.
I believe yoga has the power to transform our lives and the lives of everyone we meet. We begin, again and again, each day, each practice, to redefine who we are as human beings and stewards of the planet. We start as always with ourselves, practicing fearlessness, compassion, and love on the laboratory of the sticky mat and carry that sweet strength into the world.
